Posterous + XML-RPC = New Blogging Gateway?
Dear Posterous Devs,
Since discovering Posterous last week, I've become quite enamored by how easy it is to post here. For example, right now I'm writing this post from my Gmail account. Posting to Posterous is so easy that it has me anxious to promote it to persons who have never thought of blogging before. Therefore, consider this a heart-felt thanks and congratulations.
As a future option, have you guys ever thought about allowing Posterous to interface with other blogging softwares via said softwares' XML-RPC gateways? For example, I would love to be able to use my Gmail account to post to my WordPress blog. And, while it is true that it is possible to post via email with WordPress, WordPress's built-in feature doesn't come anywhere close to the email parsing sophistication of Posterous.
If I could integrate Posterous' "post from anywhere" capabilities into a WordPress blog, I could easily see myself using it with some of the custom WordPress blogs that I design and build for my clients. Then training them to post to their blogs would be as simple as telling them to send an email to Posterous.
Finally, consider this as just a question/suggestion. Perhaps this isn't a direction you guys are interested in pursuing. You already have the makings of a great community growing here, and like you guys, I am excited to see what will happen as you make blogging as easy as writing an email.
So, Posterous Devs what are your thoughts on this? Garry, Sachin, et al.
